Kohala, Hawaii – The Kohala Night Market,, is set to return this season with an exciting twist: an opportunity for our local youth to step into the world of entrepreneurship. This initiative aims to foster creativity and business skills among children, encouraging them to become vendors in a supportive environment.
Every 1st Wednesday, the Kohala Night Market transforms the heart of our town into a Night Market, filled with food trucks, local craft, jewelry vendors, Baked good art and info booths. This vibrant gathering not only showcases the talents of local artisans and food enthusiasts but now opens its doors to the next generation of innovators.
This year, Kimi Vaka’uta and Kathy Matsuda are inviting young entrepreneurs to apply for their very own vendor spots. Young participants will have the chance to sell handmade crafts, baked goods, art, and any other creative products they can dream up. The goal is to inspire keiki to harness their entrepreneurial spirit while learning valuable lessons about business management, marketing, and customer service.
Interested young vendors are encouraged to reach out to Kimi Vakau’ta via email krh1@northkohala.org or 808-889-5523 or visit us on our social media- Facebook (Kohala Night Market)
Spaces are limited, 4 spots each month to start off with. The initiative not only aims to nurture a new generation of entrepreneurs but also to strengthen community bonds by celebrating the talents of our youth.
When we give the youth a chance to have their own booth, I know that aunties, uncles, and all the ohana will come out to support them.
