The Hale
NKCRC has signed a two-year lease effective January 1, 2023 with Kohala Village LLC, more commonly known within the community as “The Hub.” NKCRC’s lease with Kohala Village, LLC consists of several buildings including three cottages, the “Hale,” and the “Barn,” which is already a popular venue for community gatherings ranging from political forums and hula halau performances and practices to wedding receptions and graduation parties.
Lease of these facilities by NKCRC will help develop a transitional path to better financial sustainability through rental revenue streams while also enhancing community engagement and enrichment projects and programs to benefit the North Kohala community. This will also provide a home for the Kohala Resilience Hub. In partnership with Vibrant Hawaii, the Kohala Resilience Hub is part of an island-wide network of trusted, people-powered spaces that provide resources to build more connected and prepared communities.
